Our Mission

Reflect Collective is an LGBTQIA‐led organization that aims to serve LGBTQIA+ sexual violence survivors through a variety of programs that will educate the community, provide healing art spaces, and offer financial compensation to those affected by this epidemic. Our mission is to increase awareness of the issue of sexual assault in the LGBTQIA+ community and provide direct support to queer survivors.

Our History

Reflect started in 2019 when three FIU students came together to make a benefit show that would raise money for the Queering Sexual Assault Awareness Program. After a successful event in which they supported several queer artists and raised over $1000 they decided to continue their work. They planned to host another similar event in 2020, but coronavirus hit and were forced to shut it down. After realizing the financial burdens of being a survivor, they decided to focus their efforts on developing a grant of queer sexual assault survivors. They became an official non-profit in 2021 and have since hosted an art therapy event and queer market to support the local community and raise funds for the grant. They plan to continue hosting events and raising money for their bi-annual grant distribution.
